Sankh India was started by Mr Manoj
Sharma in 1989, who at present is The CEO of the Sankh
India Group, a professional management graduate with
experience in International marketing and export trade.
Sankh India was primarily set up to supply India’s
fashion bags, fashion jewelry, Indian wooden furniture
and related accessories to the United States.
Sankh
India has experienced a tremendous learning curve, thoroughly
understanding the use of jute fabric for jute bags and
solid wood for furniture & accessories, production
nuances, packaging, storage, and shipping and distribution
systems. From the beginnings it was decided that for
effective profitability, quality control systems and
delivery scheduling a vigorous process of backward integration
is required. Today we have specialized ten product divisions
and corresponding departments that excel in each to
supply anywhere in the world.
We
believe, sankh India has earned its reputation as being
a quality producer from Asia achieving world-class production
capability and delivery time schedules in the industry.
The main manufacturing's of the company are located
in & around Delhi, Kolkata, Purdilpur, Moradabad,
Saharanpur, Jodhpur & Panipat, where more than 500
craft persons are working under the guidance of a dynamic
& professional management team.
Due to its persistent efforts and innovative quality,
Sankh has been certified as a member of EPCH- Council
For Handicrafts, JMDC- Council for Jute Products, The
East India Jute Hessian Exchange Ltd, and The Textile
Export Promotion Council since 1998.

Kolkata especially for the jute

At Sankh Care Craft, superior quality and satisfied

up of around 250 skilled craftsmen, hailing from across

We have recently set up our latest printing unit for
jute/cotton bags printing in our New Delhi unit. We
are a technology driven company using the advance and
latest manufacturing facility constantly upgraded in
order to maximize our quality and strength. We constantly
train and retain young people who share their vision
and strive for perfection. The management is young and
professional at all levels and has good team spirit,
teamwork and team performance. We also have a strong

has come to symbolize friendship and festivity.
This division is a source of pride for us. Conceptualized
from ground up as an integrated manufacturing facility,
it today boasts of the world class candle craft techniques—The
technique of molding candles, which now enables us to
produce so many decorative and representational shapes
& designs. An in-house finishing and packing department
and highly trained and motivated candle artisans further
back up this facility.
Sankh® Potpourri has a great respect for today’s

decorative gift items and beaded picture frames &
loose beads in different-different materials. Different

craftsman to suit and adorn interiors. This division

This
division is eight years old and has developed extensively
in these years. In our Calcutta unit we have an in-house
production facility for screen printing, stitching and
packing for over 100, 000 bags per month. We also make
bags & purses in polyester/silk/organza. The division
engages skilled workers along with a dedicated customer
service team to ensure quality service and full customer
satisfaction.

Samples are available at FOB cost x 2
times + UPS/FEDEX pre-paid through T/T. Minimum sample
cost would be US$60.00 or the actual FOB cost x 2 times;
whichever higher + UPS/FEDEX pre-paid through T/T.
•
New Development: Sankh ensures to keep
the secrecy of client’s designs & the new
development. So please feel free to send us your design
for the new development. Special developments are undertaken
and estimates are provided in advance
based on the drawings/specifications supplied by our
clients. We take approximately 7-10 days lead-time from
the date of receipt of total specification/confirmed
design and accessories (if sent by client) for
sample dispatch. Sampling/development cost
charged at the time of sampling can be reimbursed once
the minimum quantity order is confirmed. We deduct sample
development cost from the next ordered Invoice value.
Customized sampling time of any item
depends upon the availability of raw material at that
particular point of time. UPS/FEDEX
normally deliver the sample in 4-5 days.
•
Production time required for production
depends on the quantity of the orders and production
bookings at that point of time. The production time
is calculated from the date of receipt of confirmation
on the approval sample and all other information relating
to production. Normally the production is started from
the actual date of receiving of advance in our bank
account or receiving of irrevocable letter of credit;
whatever payment terms agreed.
•
Minimum Order: Minimum Invoice value

may be negotiated on special terms.

Price: Our Prices are FOB Delhi
(excluding Jute Products). And FOB Calcutta
for Jute items. In some cases C&F and CIF prices
can be quoted upon client’s request. FOB
Mumbai can also be offered upon request.
•
Payment terms are 100% irrevocable
letter of credit or 50% advance against our Performa
Invoice and balance COD/DP at sight basis or 35% advance
and balance by wire transfer at the time of shipment.
•
Delivery: The lead-time for all orders
is 10 days. Normally, for an order of 500-1000 jute
bags we require 7 days as production time. For an order
of 2000-10000 bags we require 15-30 days as production
time. In other items it is different and it depends
more on style and quantity. In fact, delivery time for
each product can't be fixed. It varies from item to
item and its order quantity. Normally delivery time
is confirmed when the item and quantity is confirmed.
• Special packaging as per customer
requirements can be provided at extra costs as applicable.
Normally the articles are bulk packed in a 7 ply corrugated
box of size 28 x 18 x 15 inches or 20 x 20 x 18 inches
with a poly sheet covering inside to protect against
damages due to moisture. Box Size (General):
H-38cms, L-71cms, W-46cms, and Volume-0.12cbm. OR
56 x 53 x 46cms, volume-0.15 cbm (approx.).
No. of boxes/20'- Full load container = 240 to 220 (approx.)
Box size & no of boxes per container depends more
on articles specifications.
•
Shipment: For Jute -Through Calcutta
Port/Air Port by Sea or Air as per request. Calcutta
port provides vessels on a weekly basis connecting all
major ports.
For other items – Through ICD Delhi (via Mumbai
port)/Air port by Sea or Air as per request.
•
Transit time for USA is 35-40 days
and for Europe 25-30 days from the date of sailing of
the vessel from Calcutta port. Transit time for the
vessel sailing from Mumbai port is 25-30 days for USA
and 20-25 days for Europe. It takes addition 4-6 days
transit time for container from ICD Delhi to Mumbai
port.
• Sea Freight Charges*, approx.
(add to FOB Value): Europe 25-30%, America 30%, and
Japan 20-23%.
• Airfreight Charges*, approx.
(add to FOB Value): Europe- 120%, America 140%, and
Japan 100%.
*NOTE: Above figure is only estimated.
Actual freight depends on item & quantity at the
time of shipment.
Additional information for Jute Bags
• Capacity: Our monthly production
capacity is of 100,000 Shopping Bags.
•
Quantity: One 20' FCL could take 15,000
to 25,000 Bags (approx) depending on size.
•
Packing: Normally 50 to 100 Bags.
•
Dimensions: All sizes of bags are outside
and may vary up to 0.5inch.
•
Colors: Jute bags colors are fast dyed
color. Fabrics with Azo-Free dyed is also available,
at some extra cost. Colors shade may vary slightly (2-3%)
due to nature of Jute Fabric. But uniformity of shades
for every order is ensured.
•
Print colors can be matched as per
the Pantone shade card specifications. A color variation
of 5% in the matching of shades is a possibility. For
screen-printing logos on the bags we require a full
size artwork of the design to be printed.
•
Handles of various make and designs
are available. These are available on our web site or
you can request us on fax.
•
Vinyl Coating is optional and is of
low-density poly- propylene (Food-Grade).
Other Business Details:
• Company logo can be printed
and customized as per customers’ design and specification.
Of course, your own designs, labels, trademarks and
other specifications are cordially welcome for all our

material to use, for each production item we consult
our technical advisors on how best to protect apiece
taking into consideration its architecture and its relative
weight. Mainly for wooden items we take extra care to
save it from humidity and breakage.
Most pieces are carefully wrapped in foam, plastic,
given corner protection and carefully placed in corrugated
boxes
